Round Two winners announced!

Hundreds of community and voluntary organisations across the UK have been awarded a BT Community Connections award.  Five hundred groups will receive a laptop and a year's broadband internet connection.   The groups will be able to use their awards to take full advantage of the tremendous opportunities offered by the internet. 

Doors will be opened to a whole new digital world.  Once they are online, the award winners will be able to help local people to find work, giving them greater independence and freedom, search for funding opportunities and link families and friends via the power of email. 

Competition for the awards was high with over 2,300 different groups.  Judges were particularly keen to find out how the laptop and internet connectivity would be used by each group to get people throughout their local community online.
